- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil salted water, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and lay flat.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned, drain fat, and stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers and top with remaining mozzarella.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
