Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup icing sugar (for drizzling)
- 2-3 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- In another bowl, mix the brown sugar with ground cinnamon. This will be your filling.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing it evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
- Dollop the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer and gently spread it out. It’s okay if some of the filling peeks through!
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the bars cool, prepare the icing by mixing icing sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle it over the cooled bars before cutting them into squares.
