Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture. Beat until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until everything is combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans using a spatula.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers might look a little soft – that’s perfect!
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
