- 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts if preferred)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chopped pecans and chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
