- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt; mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until incorporated.
- Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create a crust.
- Spread the chopped strawberries evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining dough over the strawberries, creating a crumbly topping.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool completely before adding the chocolate topping.
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or double boiler, then drizzle over the cooled bars.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
