  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup additional chocolate chips (for drizzling)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underbaked.
  • Once out of the oven, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  • While cooling, melt the additional chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled cookies and top with a drizzle of caramel sauce. Allow it to set before serving.
