- For the filling:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- For the icing:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl; let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt; gradually mix in flour and knead until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- In a saucepan, cook cherries, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and water over medium heat until thickened; let cool.
- Roll out the risen dough, spread cherry filling over it, and roll tightly into a log.
- Cut the log into 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk together icing ingredients until smooth.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.

- Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- Cherries can be fresh or frozen; if using frozen, thaw beforehand.
