Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk and sugar, then adding yeast and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine flour and salt in a bowl, create a well, and add the yeast mixture and melted butter to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then let it rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about 1 hour.
  4. Mix minced garlic, mozzarella, and Italian seasoning for the filling.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle the cheese mixture on top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly, cut into 12 pieces, and place cut side up in a greased muffin tin.
  7. Let the cruffins rise for another 30 minutes covered with a towel.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), brush with egg wash, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack, then enjoy warm!
