Ingredients

  • 3-4 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Season brisket with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Sear brisket in olive oil on medium-high heat until browned.
  3. Sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
  5. Place brisket in a slow cooker, pour sauce over it, cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Shred the beef after resting, then return it to the sauce to absorb flavors.
