Delicious stuffed mushrooms filled with caramelized onions, garlic, Gruyère cheese, and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • 12 large cremini or button mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean mushrooms, remove stems, and chop stems finely.
  3. Caramelize sliced onions in olive oil for about 15 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and chopped mushroom stems to the skillet; cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in grated Gruyère cheese and chopped parsley; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Spoon the filling into mushroom caps and sprinkle breadcrumbs if desired.
  7. Bake on a baking sheet for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider using a mix of mushrooms.
  • Breadcrumbs are optional for a crunchy topping.
