- 12 large cremini or button mushrooms
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced

- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean mushrooms, remove stems, and chop stems finely.
- Caramelize sliced onions in olive oil for about 15 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and chopped mushroom stems to the skillet; cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in grated Gruyère cheese and chopped parsley; season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon the filling into mushroom caps and sprinkle breadcrumbs if desired.
- Bake on a baking sheet for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.

- For added flavor, consider using a mix of mushrooms.
- Breadcrumbs are optional for a crunchy topping.
