Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas Bananas
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
- Graham cracker crumbs (optional for layering)
Instructions
- Start by caramelizing the bananas. In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir until it dissolves.
- Slice the bananas and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring gently until they are golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a saucepan, combine the milk, granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well and cook over medium heat, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens and bubbles, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once thickened, remove the pudding from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- In a serving glass, start layering. Begin with a layer of the pudding, followed by the caramelized bananas, and then a layer of whipped cream. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glass.
- Finish with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs if desired. Serve immediately or chill for later.
