Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cajun Seasoning:
    • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Salmon and Shrimp:
    • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
    • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
    • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cajun Seasoning:
    • In a small bowl, mix together all the Cajun seasoning ingredients: smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Season the Salmon and Shrimp:
    • Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning generously over both sides of the salmon fillets and shrimp.
  3. Cook the Salmon:
    • In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.
    • Add the salmon fillets to the skillet, skin-side down if they have skin. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Cook the Shrimp:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter.
    • Add the shrimp and minced garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
    • Stir in the lemon juice and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Serve:
    • Plate the Cajun salmon and shrimp, garnishing with fresh parsley and lemon wedges for a burst of freshness.
    • Serve with your favorite sides, such as rice or vegetables.

Enjoy your Cajun Salmon and Shrimp as a spicy and flavorful main course!
