  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  • While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes.
  • After the pasta is done, reserve about a cup of the pasta water, then drain the linguine.
  • Add the drained linguine directly into the skillet with the melted butter and garlic. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
  • Mix in the chopped basil and parsley, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
