  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for the batter)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter until browned.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the browned butter, 1/4 cup unsalted butter, and sugar.
  • Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; blend until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Fold in diced peaches gently.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
