Deliciously nutty and chewy, these Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect treat for any occasion!

  • Total Time: 42

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Start by browning the butter. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly to avoid cooking the eggs when mixed.
  • In a large bowl, mix brown sugar and granulated sugar with the brown butter until well combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  • Fold in chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
