- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg

- 1 cup peeled and finely chopped apples
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).
- Drop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
