Gather these simple ingredients to make your Apple Pie Stuffed Cinnamon Rolls:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup diced apples (peeled and cored)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Heat milk and butter, then combine with dry ingredients and egg. Gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Mix diced apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla for the filling.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, then spread the apple filling evenly over it.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rolls rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over baked rolls.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add more spices to the apple filling.
