  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup diced apples (peeled and cored)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Heat milk and butter, then combine with dry ingredients and egg. Gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Mix diced apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla for the filling.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, then spread the apple filling evenly over it.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover and let rolls rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over baked rolls.
