A delicious and easy-to-make dessert that combines flaky puff pastry with spiced apples for a delightful treat!

  • Total Time: 40

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 3 medium apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
  • Roll out one sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles, depending on your desired shape.
  • Place a generous spoonful of the apple mixture on one half of the pastry, leaving space around the edges.
  • Fold the pastry over to create a pocket and crimp the edges using a fork to seal.
  • Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and the remaining apple filling.
  • Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.
  • Let them cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
