- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and sugar until evenly coated.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Place a few apple slices along the center of each strip, leaving some space at the edges.
- Fold the edges of the pastry over the apples and twist the strip to create a spiral shape.
- Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with the beaten egg mixed with milk.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, as oven times can vary!
