- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Additional sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time along with vanilla bean seeds and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt, then add to wet ingredients alternating with heavy cream until just combined.
- Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, sprinkle sugar on top and caramelize with a kitchen torch or under a broiler until golden.
Notes
- Ensure not to overmix the batter to keep cupcakes light and fluffy.
- If using a broiler, watch closely to prevent burning the sugar.
