  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • Extra flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Gather and measure all ingredients.
  2. Mix dry ingredients (flour, salt, sugar, yeast) in a bowl.
  3. Create a well, then add warm water and olive oil; mix until shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Mix minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme in a bowl.
  7. Punch down the risen dough, flatten it, sprinkle with the garlic-herb mixture, fold, and shape into a loaf.
  8. Let the shaped dough rise for 30 minutes on parchment paper while preheating the oven to 450°F.
  9. Bake the bread covered in a Dutch oven for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes before slicing.
