Before we get started, gather the following ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then cool slightly.
- Combine melted butter and sugar in a bowl, add eggs and vanilla, and mix until smooth.
- Sift dry ingredients and mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into a greased 9×13 baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Sprinkle marshmallows on top and toast with a kitchen torch or under the broiler.
- Cool for 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
