To create this mouthwatering casserole, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Feel free to experiment with the ingredients. As a mom, I love adding extra veggies when I can. Carrots or peas work wonderfully in this dish!
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and season pork chops with salt, pepper, and thyme; sear for 4-5 minutes on each side and set aside.
- Sauté diced onions and minced garlic in the same skillet until onions are translucent.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the seared pork chops, sautéed onions and garlic, and remaining potatoes.
- Mix heavy cream and chicken broth, then pour over the layered casserole.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes; remove foil, add cheese, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
