Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the core of the cabbage and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground meat and drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the meat with rice, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the chopped cabbage in the slow cooker, add the meat mixture, then layer the remaining cabbage on top.
  5. Pour tomato sauce over everything.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
