- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips (or more for extra decadence)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla in a bowl.
- Add the egg yolk and whisk until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, then add to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Dollop dough onto the prepared baking sheet and shape into a cookie.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until slightly underbaked in the center.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
