A flavorful Shrimp and Sausage Dirty Rice dish that’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound of smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups of long-grain white rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion, bell pepper, and celery in vegetable oil until soft.
  2. Add sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in garlic and Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add rice and coat with pan flavors, cooking for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Add shrimp, cover again, and cook for 5 minutes until shrimp is pink.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, stir, and serve.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the Cajun seasoning based on your spice preference.
