Before we dive into the cooking process, let’s gather our ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pound fresh salmon fillet, skin removed
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: capers for garnish
These ingredients are easy to find and often found in my kitchen. Remember, you can always substitute ingredients based on what you have on hand! That’s one of my favorite cooking hacks!
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, mix cream cheese, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Place the salmon fillet on a surface and spread the cream cheese mixture over the top.
- Unroll the puff pastry, cut into squares, and wrap around the salmon, sealing well and brushing tops with beaten egg.
- Place wrapped salmon on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.

- Adjust seasoning as per your taste.
- Capers can be added for garnish if desired.
