- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Mix the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg until combined; spread in the baking dish.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar, pumpkin puree, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour the mixture over the cake base and bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool for 30 minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add more spices to the gooey layer.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
