- 3–4 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh buns for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the beef chuck roast on all sides until browned.
- Transfer the beef to a slow cooker and add sliced onions and minced garlic around it.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper, then pour over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until fork-tender.
- Remove the beef, let it rest for 15 minutes, then shred with forks.
- Mix shredded beef back into the sauce and serve on fresh buns.
