Try this elegant Pan-Seared Salmon with a Creamy Florentine Sauce. Tender salmon topped with a rich, creamy spinach sauce makes for a delicious and impressive meal

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Salmon:
    • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For the Creamy Florentine Sauce:
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Salmon:
    • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
    • Season both sides of the fillets with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Cook the Salmon:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
    • Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down if they have skin, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Florentine Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
    • Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
    • Add the chopped spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
    • Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer the sauce for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
    • Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine and Serve:
    • Return the cooked salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the creamy Florentine sauce over the top. Let the salmon warm through for 1-2 minutes.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
