Scale
- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté the onions until translucent and golden.
- Add the rinsed rice to the onions and toast for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in water or broth and add salt, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes off heat.

Notes
- For added flavor, consider using chicken broth instead of water.
- Ensure to keep the lid on during cooking for fluffy rice.
