Scale
Before we start cooking, let’s gather all the ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need for your Mushroom and Garlic Spaghetti:
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini work best)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil salted water and cook spaghetti until al dente; reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil, sauté garlic for 1 minute, then add mushrooms and cook until golden brown.
- Add drained spaghetti to the skillet, toss with reserved pasta water, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, ensure the Parmesan is rennet-free.
- Feel free to add other vegetables or proteins as desired.
