- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 package lasagna noodles
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese, egg, dried basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Boil salted water, cook lasagna noodles until al dente (8-10 minutes), then drain and lay flat.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer marinara sauce, noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and repeat, finishing with noodles and marinara on top; sprinkle remaining cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Let the lasagna sit for 10-15 minutes before slicing to help it hold its shape.
- Feel free to add vegetables or other seasonings to the meat mixture for extra flavor.
