A rich and spicy Mexican Chocolate Pie that combines the flavors of chocolate, cinnamon, and a hint of cayenne.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, pressing against the edges.
  3. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, heavy cream, vanilla, cinnamon, cayenne, and salt, then mix in the melted chocolate.
  5. Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake for 30 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Allow the pie to cool for at least two hours before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to suit your spice preference.
  • For best flavor, allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.
