- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Bake for about 1 hour until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until golden brown.
- Add flour to mushrooms, then slowly stir in beef broth until gravy thickens. Season to taste.
- Let meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing, then serve with mushroom gravy.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meatloaf mixture to avoid toughness.
- Resting the meatloaf helps in slicing.
