Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and mix ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  4. Melt butter in a skillet, sauté mushrooms until golden, then stir in flour for 1 minute.
  5. Slowly add beef broth while stirring, then add thyme and soy sauce, simmer until thickened.
  6. Let the meatloaf rest, slice, and serve with mushroom gravy.

  • For added flavor, let the meatloaf sit for a few minutes before slicing.
