- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and mix ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Melt butter in a skillet, sauté mushrooms until golden, then stir in flour for 1 minute.
- Slowly add beef broth while stirring, then add thyme and soy sauce, simmer until thickened.
- Let the meatloaf rest, slice, and serve with mushroom gravy.
Notes
- For added flavor, let the meatloaf sit for a few minutes before slicing.
- Feel free to add your favorite herbs to the gravy for extra flavor.
