- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups macaroni pasta
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, heat milk and half of the cheddar cheese until melted to make a cheese sauce.
- Stir cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until coated.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half the meatloaf mixture, then the mac and cheese, and top with the remaining meatloaf mixture.
- Spread ketchup on top of the meatloaf layer.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and cooked through.
- Let cool, cut into squares, and serve.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Use whole wheat breadcrumbs for a healthier twist.
