A hearty and cheesy casserole combining meatloaf and mac and cheese for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups macaroni pasta
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  4. In a saucepan, heat milk and half of the cheddar cheese until melted to make a cheese sauce.
  5. Stir cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until coated.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer half the meatloaf mixture, then the mac and cheese, and top with the remaining meatloaf mixture.
  7. Spread ketchup on top of the meatloaf layer.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and cooked through.
  9. Let cool, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • Use whole wheat breadcrumbs for a healthier twist.
