- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, salt, and dried herbs in a separate bowl.
- Combine yeast mixture with dry ingredients and olive oil; stir to form a dough.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Fold in Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
- Let dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth for 1 hour.
- Punch down dough and shape it into a loaf or rolls.
- Let shaped dough rise again for 30 minutes on a baking sheet.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
