- 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, and spices for at least 1 hour.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet, cook marinated chicken until browned (8-10 minutes), then set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and ginger, followed by crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Return chicken to sauce, stir in heavy cream, and simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and serve.
Notes
- For best flavor, marinate the chicken longer if possible.
- Serve with rice or naan for a complete meal.
