Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar works best)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the beef mixture, then the remaining potatoes.
  5. Mix cream of mushroom soup and milk, then pour over the layered ingredients.
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
