- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and sauté.
- Add ground beef, break it apart, and cook until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add orzo and 2 cups water, bring to a boil, then cover and cook for 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, serve hot, and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding Parmesan cheese before serving.
