Delicious homemade Greek Chicken Gyros with a refreshing tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the marinade, coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. For tzatziki sauce, mix yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, cook marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Slice chicken, place in pita bread, top with tzatziki sauce, and any additional toppings.
