A flavorful and easy steak dirty rice dish that’s perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of steak (sirloin or flank work great)
  • 1 cup of long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color you prefer)
  • 1 cup of green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cut steak into bite-sized pieces and season with salt, pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the seasoned steak and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the rice and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in beef broth, add remaining Cajun seasoning and paprika, bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Fluff rice with a fork, mix in green onions, and adjust seasoning before serving.
