Ingredients

- 3–4 pounds of chuck roast
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1 cup of dry white wine (optional)
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices of Swiss cheese (for serving)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Thinly slice the onions and mince the garlic.
- Optional: Sear the chuck roast in a skillet until browned.
- Layer sliced onions in the slow cooker, followed by the seared roast, garlic, broth, wine, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Check for tenderness, serve with Swiss cheese on top, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
- For extra flavor, searing the roast is recommended but not mandatory.
- Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
