Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of your favorite pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli work well)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add diced tomatoes to the skillet, simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in heavy cream and basil, simmering for another 5 minutes.
  4. Drain pasta and combine with the sauce in the skillet, tossing until well coated, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Notes

  • Feel free to use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
