Ingredients

- 8 ounces of your favorite pasta (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli work well)
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions for 8-10 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add diced tomatoes to the skillet, simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in heavy cream and basil, simmering for another 5 minutes.
- Drain pasta and combine with the sauce in the skillet, tossing until well coated, and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Notes
- Feel free to use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
