- 1 pound ground beef (or Italian sausage)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet and drain excess grease.
- Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant and translucent.
- Transfer meat mixture to the crockpot and add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, water, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper; stir to combine.
- Add broken lasagna noodles to the mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours until noodles are tender.
- Stir in ricotta cheese 30 minutes before serving and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to use ground turkey or chicken as a healthier alternative.
- For added flavor, consider including other herbs or vegetables.
