- 1 pound of Italian sausage (you can use mild or spicy, depending on your preference)
- 1 package (9 ounces) of cheese tortellini
- 1 can (15 ounces) of diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (8 ounces) of tomato sauce
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat.
- Transfer the sausage to the crockpot and add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, heavy cream, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the cheese tortellini and stir gently.
- Serve in bowls and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning according to taste.
- Can substitute with other pasta if tortellini isn’t available.
