- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 pound ground beef
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta shells in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and cool.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté garlic, then add ground beef and cook until browned; season with salt and pepper.
- Mix cooked beef with ricotta, egg, and half of the mozzarella in a bowl.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and stuff each shell with the beef mixture, placing them in a baking dish open side up.
- Cover shells with marinara sauce and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider using Italian seasoning in the beef mixture.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
