- 1 cup fresh crab meat
- 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot, add onion and carrot, sauté until tender (about 5 mins).
- Add garlic and tomato paste, cook for 2 more minutes.
- Pour in seafood stock, bring to a gentle boil, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add crab meat and shrimp, cook for another 5 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Blend the mixture until smooth, return to pot, and stir in heavy cream.
- Season with paprika, salt, and pepper, simmer for a few minutes, and serve garnished with parsley.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- This bisque can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
