Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh crab meat
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium carrot, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot, add onion and carrot, sauté until tender (about 5 mins).
  2. Add garlic and tomato paste, cook for 2 more minutes.
  3. Pour in seafood stock, bring to a gentle boil, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Add crab meat and shrimp, cook for another 5 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
  5. Blend the mixture until smooth, return to pot, and stir in heavy cream.
  6. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper, simmer for a few minutes, and serve garnished with parsley.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • This bisque can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
